So far, it is my second shiny catch in that game, the first being a Geodude. Oh, did I mention that I haven't even challenged the 2nd gym yet?
So I'm not the only one having a strange amount of luck in Diamond? I found a shiny Geodude, too when I started a new playthrough. Then a shiny Kricketune a short while later

Hey, guys! Guess what? Surprise Shiny Clamperl while breeding for a good Baby Shell Smasher! 31 SAtk, but not the defense I was looking for. Decent nature, I suppose. Rash wouldn't have been my first choice, but hey, you can't be picky when it comes to shinies, right?

    That is pretty cool, congratulations

Nothing to report on the tangela front; I've hatched over 750 eggs so far. Perhaps next I will try for skorupi. Maybe.

Can you use power items/everstone in the new gen during the matsuda method?

I believe you can. I remember during a recent attempt to MM a shiny feebas, one parent was given an everstone (bold nature I think) when paired with a Japanese Ditto, and a high percentage hatched to be the same nature.

Everstone does work for MMing in Gen V.
I'm up to 900 or so hatched tangela.

I have no idea how much longer this'll take, but I think the next shinymon I'll try for will be skorupi ^_^

I am currently chaining Meditite on my Japanese diamond game! I am up to 14 right now. I started chaining them because I was tired of chains of Machoke breaking and I wanted to do something different. Once again, Strife's Law of Chaining has taken effect and the pokemon I wasn't trying for is the chain that actually succeeds. But I am happy with them and I have a good synchronizing nature, so it isn't the total disaster that was my Murkrow chain.

    Egg 966 is a shiny tangela ^_^

Hmm... wonder what to name him.

Ability is Chlorophyll. I would've preferred Regenerator, but I like chlorophyll better than leaf guard

EDIT: IV guy tells me he's relatively superior, and has 31/x/x/x/31/x
And Modest, good nature for a tangela.
First time I've gotten the nature I was aiming for. That is coincidence though; hatchlings have usually been 50/50 nature-wise
