You should get father of the year giving a shiny Gyarados to Caden. I would have said, too bad, so sad to Riley Remember back when Taterbud hosted, Shiney and a Movie? I scored many a shiny and can't tell you how many times I denied my son one of my shiny stash. I feel kinda bad, NOT!

He likes shinies and I like IVs, so he is in luck until I breed a shiny with nice IVs haha. Jalen was eyeing the Teddiursa though.

Actually Caden has all my shinies from previous Gens that I did not hatch (2) or catch (2), minus the 2 Kate gave me for my birthday one year. Holy cow besides the Red Gyarados and Haxorus the game has given us over the years I have already got more shiny Pokémon in the 1st month of X/Y then all previous Gens combined haha.

Hahah Cherkat I was thinking about Shiny and a Movie earlier. I think I got a few out of it, but mostly I was thinking about how much time she must have spent getting all those shinies. I miss Taterbud. (not just for the shinies, either!)

shinies are definitely random and luck. i just caught my second shiny in friend safari while trying to find out the second slot of the safari.
It's a shiny Hoothoot. brings back memories of my very first shiny encounter in the original Silver version.

Well, this may seem like #4 to you, and it certainly looks that way.
It is, however, a first - of a sort.
My first Unintentionally Bred Shiny Pokemon!
It's a Smeargle.
I was not MMing for him, so I haven't really been keeping track of exact numbers - I know he was 25th of his generation, with 2 5xPerfect smeargles as parents, and it certainly occurred a lot faster than the froakie did.
He has x/31/x/31/31/x (Jolly/Technician).

Hatching unintentional shinies is quicker then intentionally hatching them. I know from experience! *Pets shiny Xatu and Klefki*

All this talking of shiny Poliwhirls is really making me want to finish up this game and get on to some sort of chaining. I must re-create precious. Heck - I must recreate just about everything :P

Heheh. I want to recreate a few, and hopefully get a few new ones! I need to try my hand at fishin', and maybe another chain or two now that I have a full set of Synchros.

Just caught a shiny Venemoth in the Friend Safari on X (My 2nd shiny on X). Unfortunately, its 31 IVs are in Attack and Special Defense.

I'm chain fishing poliwags, and got to 46 and i don't think there was a shiny.

I just want to be sure that the shinies you see in the wild will do the sparkle thing and be obvious, since the poliwag color isn't too far away from the normal one..
