    Default Face Off: Flying Pokemon

Every version of Pokemon on the handheld requires you to have at least one Flying type Pokemon in your party to make it through single-player mode. It used to just be for the HM Fly but the DS brought up the HM Defog, forcing us to sack two good moves off of our Flying Pokemon.

So I ask you, which game had the best Flying type Pokemon available early on in single player?

    1. Fearow ... EARLY ?

    2. Pidgey is my favorite but i think that Starly's final evolution (Staraptor) is better then Pidgey's final evolution (Pidgeot) Even if Pigeot looks way cooler.

I have always detested wingull for some reason - probably because it kept showing up when I was surfing around in Pearl...

I think that starly is the most 'quality' of these early pokemon even though I didn't really care for how it looked. None of these have ever been one of my faves of the generation. Usually I'd pick up a zubat to do all of my flying around, unless i was powering through a game for speed or something.

Crobat also makes a very nice mean-looker for legendaries later on

I have become a Zubat lover as of late. 4X resistances to fighting, grass, and bug and its immunity to toxic/poisoning help you early in the game.
In R/S/E I always looked for the Wingull early in the game as it not only could Fly, but could also Surf.

I like starly as staraptor with a adamant nature is a full fleded attacker.

When having fly, brave bird, aerial ace and close combat it does lots of damage and mainly is my lead.

I always liked my Swellow, just because it was so fast.

Wingull and Zubat are my sworn enemies, probably because they always show up when surfing or exploring caves. Repetitive unwanted encounters inspire extreme dislike.

I've always been fond of Tailow myself, though Starly would come in a close second.

Starly is the best! His/her last evolutuion is the only pokemon that allows you to learn close combat , a fighting type move.

Pidgey, without a doubt. I mean. How can something so cute be so PWNGE?
Plus, it's a classic. Can't beat the classics. Irreplacable.
