  1. The More You Know

    I learned what it's like to be tall on Saturday night.

    Sleeping on my brother's couch, my legs were just a little bit too long to stretch fully out.

    So I woke up with a stiff/sore neck and aching knees. Just what you need before a 4hr car trip, right? Absolutely :/

    I find myself with no envy, and a continued inability to play basketball.

    Do you remember having to write stories in the early years of school?

    I remember - one sentence stories to begin with, then 2 and before long, paragraphs.

    One such story went thus:
    I know the go-away bee
    No, that 'no' is not a typo - the teacher added the 'k' and the 'w' upon correcting my work.
    Being 5 or 6 years old, I don't think I was aware of silent letters yet.

    I don't exactly have the best luck with watches.

    Wind back the calendar to Christmas 1999 - if you pay much attention to these things, this makes my age at the time about 14 and a half.
    That Christmas, I received a very nice gift - a wristwatch - black leather band, with a gold-bordered black face, and golden hands and numbers. My description doesn't do it much justice, but it was something that I wanted - a black-faced watch.
